Heinz-Peter Linshalm

studied Clarinet at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and Bass Clarinet at the Hochschule der Künste Bern.
His repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary pieces, 2011 he won – together with Petra Stump – the 2nd price at the Concours Nicati – Interpretation contest for contemporary music of Switzerland for professional musicians.
A lot of first performances are dedicated to him, and he has worked together with great composers like Pierluigi Billone, Chaya Czernowin, Beat Furrer, Karlheinz Stockhausen a.o.. Repeatedly artists composed for Heinz-Peter Linshalm and his ensembles that will enrich the clarinet literature probably permanently.
In 2005 the duo Stump-Linshalm recorded the CD born to be off-road (Radio Österreich 1 “Pasticciopreis”) which can be seen as a kind of “interim result” of their cooperation with contemporary composers. Other records are 1+1=1 by Pierluigi Billone (2006, @ KAIROS), 2010 Short Cuts at ein_klang records and 2012Chamber Music for Wind Instruments for basset horns and bassoon (M. Turkovic) by W. A. Mozart (Gramola).
Since 2011 he teaches bass clarinet at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
